Advent 2017 Day Retreat
SoulStream Presents:
Waiting for the Light – An Advent SoulStream Day Retreat
Saturday, December 2, 2017
A facilitated day retreat offering worship, instruction, periods of silent reflection and prayer, and voluntary group reflection.
It is often a struggle to wait, especially when we’re waiting for good things to come to us or for bad things to come to an end. Yet a posture of waiting is a hallmark of our life with God. The context of Advent provides a rich medium for our exploration of worship and contemplative practices that not only redefine what it means to wait but can reorient our expectation toward the One in whom “the hopes and fears of all the years are met” — God-in-the-flesh, Jesus Christ.
Facilitators
SoulStream partner John Lunn and Julee Botting who are on the leadership team at Marineview.
John Lunn is a spiritual director and pastor who loves to create spaces for people to experience the love of God and be transformed. He holds a BA in Psychology, an MDiv from Regent College, and has served in the not-for-profit and public sectors as well as in full-time ministry.
Julee Botting is a worship facilitator who delights in shaping opportunities that inspire people’s participation and imagination toward encounters with God. A skilled pianist and vocalist, she has been creating worship environments for the past 15 years as a regular Sunday morning worship leader and through contemplative services and retreats.
