About our presenters

Sue is married to Tony and has three adult children and six grandchildren. She received an M.Div. from Tyndale Seminary in 2000 and is a graduate of Tyndale’s first Spiritual Direction Practicum, September 2001 – June 2002. Her Practicum project was Group Spiritual Direction.

Sue has been a facilitator or participant in Group Spiritual Direction for eleven out of the past sixteen years. This speaks to the goodness of this experience for her. She has witnessed it to be a graced process for other participants too, where God is present and working as the group prayerfully listens and responds to the participant sharing their story. Something beautiful happens in a group like this!

Daphne is married to Art and has three adult children plus six grandchildren. She received Spiritual Direction training with Soulstream from 2002-2004. Her involvement in Group Spiritual Direction began in 2004.

Several years later while working on her Masters’ Degree at Regent College, Daphne chose Group Spiritual Direction for her Field Education practicum.

Following the practicum experience, Daphne has facilitated a Spiritual Direction group since Fall 2011.

Daphne finds Group Spiritual Direction to be rewarding and soul-satisfying, both for participants and facilitators. Holding a space and listening for God’s presence in the events and moments of each other’s lives is a beautiful gift.

From previous participants

Karen: “Group Spiritual Direction nudges me to notice how God is moving in my life. Every meeting amazes me. The format is so simple, and yet the results are always so profound. I’ve gotten to know my fellow members, and be known by them in a much deeper way than many years of casual interaction would have provided.”
