This day is for those who have opened their hearts to God…
…who have come to know something of God’s love for them and yet for whom Centering Prayer is a challenge. Are you concerned about the legitimacy of silence? Have you found Centering Prayer difficult or tedious? Do you feel you aren’t wired for Centering Prayer? Have you been curious but did not know how to enter in? Whatever the barrier, there is hope! You are welcome to reflect together with Jeff whose formal prayer has mostly been Centering Prayer, who has been friends with The Cloud of Unknowing for years, and who has recently come to appreciate the great gift of this book in a fresh way.
Topics will include:
- An Introduction to Centering Prayer
- God and the Cloud of Unknowing
- Everyday Life and the Cloud of Forgetting
- Prayer And The Sharp Dart Of Longing Love
Short times of input will be offered and then time given for personal reflection and response.

Jeff Imbach has spent many years as a pastor and spiritual director. Together with his brother Steve, Jeff is also a co-founder of SoulStream, which provides spiritual direction training, retreats, and other contemplative experiences. Jeff is the author of The Recovery of Love and the award winning The River Within: Loving God, Living Passionately. He is also editor of Words of Hope and Healing: 99 Sayings By Henri Nouwen.
