Ignatian Prayer Retreat Fall 2019

An Introduction to Ignatian Prayer: A Weekend Silent Retreat
October 18–20, 2019
This retreat is designed for anyone who would like a silent, guided prayer retreat, for anyone who is considering participating in the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises or anyone who would like to experience Ignatian Prayer—Lectio Divina, Gospel Contemplation (Praying with your imagination) and Prayer of Examen.
DATE/TIME: Friday, October 18, 5:30 pm to Sunday, October 20, 2 pm.
LOCATION: Carmel Hill, Little Flower Monastery, 10789 N Deroche Rd, Deroche, B.C.
COST: $325 (Includes 6 meals with a private room and washroom)
ACCOMMODATION: Private room with washroom.

FORMAT:
- Silence observed after supper Friday until before lunch Sunday
- Four 30 minute group input sessions
- Six 45-60 minute periods for assigned personal prayer
- Three 15 minute one-on-one spiritual direction sessions
- During free time, retreatants are encouraged to go for a walk or do something that does not engage their minds directly (e.g. colouring, knitting, puzzles.
FACILITATORS:
Spiritual directors and SoulStream partners, Christopher Chiu and Esther Hizsa accompany people praying the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises Retreat in Daily Life with JSAV (Jesuit Apostolate Spirituality of Vancouver.
Christopher Chiu has a Masters of Arts in Theological Studies from Regent College, is the Director of Retreats and Spiritual Direction at City in Focus and the Program Coordinator of JSAV. Chris attends Tenth Alliance Church in Vancouver and Richmond Eastern Catholic Church.
Esther Hizsa has an M Div from Regent College, co-facilitates Living from the Heart and is on the Leadership Team of SoulStream. She posts weekly on her blog An Everyday Pilgrim and is the author of Stories of an Everyday Pilgrim. Esther attends St. Stephen the Martyr Anglican Church in Burnaby.
