Ron Dart and SoulStream Present A Day With Merton – January 10, 2015
On January 10, 2015 in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Merton’s birth (1915-2015), you are invited to spend the day with Thomas Merton. Ron Dart, in celebration of Merton, will focus on three essential aspects of Merton’s life and writings.
The day will consist of 3 presentations on Merton’s life and the opportunity for personal reflection.
9:30am gathering and settle
9:45-10:00 Introduction
10:00-10:30 Presentation #1 The Contemplative Journey: Inward Odyssey
10:30 11:30 Silence and Journal time
11:30-12:00 Presentation #2 The Ecclesial Journal: Loyal but Critical
12-1 Lunch Break and sharing
1:15-1:45 Presentation #3 The Public Journey: Prophetic Politics
1:45-2:15 Silence and Journaling
2:30-3:00 Q&A final thoughts
Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Please bring a notebook and pen and wear comfortable clothing.
The event will be held at 35535 McKee Road in Abbotsford.

About Ron Dart
Ron Dart BA (Lethbridge); DCS, MCS (Regent College), MA (UBC), PhD studies at McMaster University, is a university professor, author, and ACC mountaineer.
Ron teaches at University of the Fraser Valley in Abbotsford, British Columbia. He has authored over twenty books that deal with the interface between literature, spirituality and politics, including Thomas Merton and the Beats of the North Cascades.
He is the political science advisor to the Stephen Leacock Museum in Orillia, Ontario, and a board member of the Thomas Merton Society of Canada. Ron is also a contributor to the Clarion Journal, and The Owl: George Grant Journal.
