In the SoulStream community dialogue around the terrible accident suffered by Steve Imbach, the Director of SoulStream, one of the partners said the following. I think it is important for all who want to grow in the contemplative way.
“I’m inclined to agree with the revelation that Stephen is now doing SD at a whole new incarnational level. Not only in community building but forcing us to look at how to practice real acceptance and real intercession at the same time. In my opinion the greatest temptation in contemplative prayer is crafting prayers that cannot disappoint and that require no faith beyond God is good. Jesus spoke of prayers of faith that heal. When the one needing prayer is a loved one like Steve, I think we need to pray prayers that risk moving us out of serenity into grief, but not into denial. Steve has given us that opportunity.”
